An Tran is an acclaimed Vietnamese classical guitarist, hailed by The Boston Globe for his "subtle, graceful virtuosity" and referred to as a "Vietnamese Guitar Virtuoso" by Austin Classical Guitar. He has won over 12 international awards and competitions and has performed at prestigious venues such as the Guitar Society of Toronto, New Orleans International Guitar Festival and New York Classical Guitar Society. Building on the momentum of his many successes, An became a recording artist for Naxos Records, with a new album coming out in June 2023. His debut album, “Stay, My Beloved”, featuring all Vietnamese guitar music was released on Frameworks Records (Sony Orchard) in April 2020. It was included in the 2020 "Recordings of the Year" by Chicago Tribune; praised by Classical Guitar Magazine as “highly virtuosic” and was described by the Guitar Foundation of America’s Soundboard Magazine as “deeply moving music at its best”. An studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, North Park University, Yale University and Northwestern University. He is on the faculty of Northern Illinois University and University of Illinois Chicago. An Tran is a board member of Chicago Classical Guitar Society and the Artistic Director/Co-Founder of Chicago Artopia. He is sponsored by D’Addario and managed by Jean Schreiber Management.
